Arden Companies, a growing Bingham Farms, Michigan based leading manufacturer and distributor of Patio and Outdoor Lifestyle products to the leading retailers in the USA and Canada, has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Product Manager to be based in the corporate headquarters.
The Associate Product Manager is responsible for supporting the Product Manager(s) in the daily activities and planning around the development and implementation of all marketing strategies for a specific product line(s) designed to drive profitable sales and increase revenue. The Associate Product Manager will be a key part of a cross-functional team to bring new and innovative product lines and comprehensive programs to life. Successful candidates must have strong written and verbal communication skills, professional demeanor and appearance, and be able to relate to customers.
Become an expert in the category and product champion through conducting market research, competitive analysis and consumer surveys; Monitor competition and retailers on a quarterly basis and provide report to the Product Manager.
Responsible for coordinating and implementing packaging requirements including key communication points and timelines to insure timely execution of the program.
Assist in the development of any Point of Purchase materials and displays for specific customer needs.
Support new product launches with necessary samples and marketing materials as directed by Product Manager.
Develop the necessary instruction manuals and materials for all products.
Prepare and execute training and the necessary training materials in a timely manner for Customer Service team.
Identify new product opportunities, product extensions and promotional opportunities.
Communicate to Asia on a day to day basis on existing and new categories.
Special Projects as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business required. MBA a plus.
Minimum three to five years work experience in a retail branding or merchandising strategies or a related field (consumer products, product marketing, business development). Familiarity with Asian sourcing a plus.
Previous experience with consumer products and Big Box, national and regional mass-merchant retailers is essential.
Both creative and analytic thinker who can easily manage multiple tasks and prioritize working within tight, concurrent deadlines.
Excellent PowerPoint skills with experience in retail presentation and excellent Excel skills with understanding of cost and margin calculations.
Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally.
