The CNC Programmer takes responsibility for the processes used to manufacture parts/implants starting with initial processing, through programming and fixture design, final prove-out, and continual improvement activities.
He or she will interface with Manufacturing, Quality, and Process Control shareowners to support flow of product through the plant.
1. Write and troubleshoot CNC programs for 3 and 5-axis CNC Mills, especially using UG/NX
2. Determine process steps for complex medical implants
3. Design tooling and fixturing
Knowledge of:
1. Print reading, GD&T preferred
2. CNC mills including G Code and M Code
3. 3D tool path creation, 5-axis experience preferred, NX preferred
4. Tool lists and setup sheets
5. Quality techniques
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is required to walk and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
The majority of the time will be spent in the engineering office with minimal noise and controlled temperature. Hours are based on shift assignment. Longer hours may be required, and are based upon production deadlines.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of experience
HS degree or combination of experience and education
Knowledge of:
1. Print reading, GD&T preferred
2. CNC mills including G Code and M Code
3. 3D tool path creation, 5-axis experience preferred, NX preferred
4. Tool lists and setup sheets
5. Quality techniques
Additionally:
Proficient and accurate with MS Office (Word, Excel) and competency in navigating the internet
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, company policy and procedure manuals. Ability to report and correspond professionally. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, employees, and management of organization.
Ability to calculate figures using basic arithmetic.
Ability to solve and interpret problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
