Director of Marketing

Job Description
Reporting to the VP of Sales and Marketing, the Director of Marketing at Kreg is responsible for managing a dynamic and motivated team that touches the customer in many ways. This position will be responsible for managing Kreg branded marketing initiatives through both direct and retail channel partners in store and on the web. The ideal candidate for this job will be a strong leader and consensus builder that has a background in durable consumer goods marketing through large retail hardware and tool industry partners such as Home Depot and Lowe’s. Experience in direct marketing efforts via the web and tv are a plus as this position will be responsible for managing our nationally broadcasted tv infomercial efforts to support and drive retail sales.

Provide leadership, coaching, and training to continually develop the Marketing team.
Build consensus with functional and cross-functional team members to align resources for maximum efficiency.
Identify and develop strategic promotional and placement initiatives.
Research and analyze market trends to serve as inputs into strategic planning process.
Capture, organize and filter voice of customer insights back into the organization to help drive improvements in programs and service.
Responsible for defining and quantifying customer segments.
Create annual marketing promotional plans in-line with company goals and objectives.
Identify, lead and measure the effectiveness of strategic direct marketing efforts including infomercials.
Analyze and evaluate the overall effectiveness of marketing programs and promotions.
Supervise the planning and development of company marketing, communication and promotional materials.
Promote positive relations with partners, vendors, and distributors.
Develop and manage marketing budgets to the annual marketing plan.
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve the efficiency of the department.
Contribute to the development of overall strategic business plan and objectives.
Education and/or Experience:

10+ years experience leading and managing teams.
Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management. Knowledge of structuring marketing goals and revenue expectations. Experience in planning marketing strategies, advertising campaigns, and successful public relations efforts.
Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight time frames and simultaneously manage several projects. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
This is normally acquired through a combination of the completion of a Masters Degree in Marketing or equivalent experience and 10 years of experience in a senior-level sales and/or marketing position.
Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule including travel as required.
