|Description and Requirements:
This is an HR leadership position with responsibility for the overall management of the HR function within the facility. This responsibility includes, but is not limited to, the direct supervision of HR staff in the areas of recruitment, employee relations, benefit administration, coordination of employee training and organizational development.
Responsible for assisting Dart Container Corporation of Mississippi in achieving goals by recruiting and retaining an effective workforce.
Responsible for supporting and communicating management practices and providing training and coaching to the management team regarding human resource related practices.
Responsible for recruitment and staffing that meets the current and long term needs of the organization in a manner consistent within legal guidelines and within the Affirmative Action Plan for Dart Container Corp. of Mississippi.
Responsible for overseeing general employment practices including interviewing process, testing, participating in disciplinary actions and termination in accordance with corporate guidelines and applicable State and Federal laws.
Responsible for human resources and leadership development by identifying training needs and securing appropriate training resources.
Responsible for leading facility efforts aimed at maintaining excellent employee relations.
Responsible for knowledge of corporate compensation and benefit plans.
Responsible for knowledge of health, safety, and security issues in the workplace.
Responsible for ensuring fair and equal treatment of all candidates or employees with regard to interview, selections, hires, transfers, promotions, demotions, lay-offs, terminations, and training regardless of the individual’s protected characteristics.
Responsible for providing guidance to the Plant Manager regarding human resources matters. Supervises and performs a variety of administrative activities to include iSeries functions, compiling and filing of associated reports such as EEO logs, other human resources related questions and reports as necessary.
Responsible for the management and maintenance of the policy and procedure manual and employee handbooks and the development of new policies as required. Provides research, developmental and implementation assistance on assigned projects.

Performs other duties consistent with the employee’s training and skills as directed by the Plant Manager
Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
5 years of human resource generalist experience required
3 years experience supervising human resource professionals.
HR Management experience in a manufacturing field preferred
Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
PC/keyboard, spreadsheet, and word processing software skills.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to recognize problem/issues and develop effective solutions. Requires independent judgment/decision making within areas of responsibility.
Ability to develop creative solutions to non-routine problems, master new concepts quickly and efficiently, and need the ability to turn concepts into practical applications.
Ability to communicate intricate job related processes clearly and concisely in English. (written/verbal)
