Initial duties will include:

Troubleshooting problems that occur during the manufacturing process of the optical coatings related to uniformity, color, and stress.

Documenting standard operating procedures, training guidelines, and what if scenarios.

Working closely with machine operators training them and communicating with them to troubleshoot problems occurring in the process.

Future Responsibilities will include:

Establish operating parameters for new processes; conduct optimization experiments; establish best practices and procedures.

Work with product and process development teams to prepare for new processes.

Improve yields, lower costs, and increase manufacturing uptime for new products/processes.

Conduct designed experiments to understand manufacturing processes and improve efficiencies.

Carry out experiments to improve product quality.

Monitors yields, quality, machine uptime, etc. and identify trends.
Job Requirements :
An ideal candidate for this position will be an organized professional with excellent analytical and communication skills. Below are key requirements that are essential for success within the position:

Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science, Physics, or one of the Engineering disciplines.

2-5 years experience in Optical Thin Film technologies

Large area sputtering system and/or sputtered optical thin film technologies a plus.

Experience with statistical methods and analysis.

Understanding of thin film and materials testing techniques such as Auger, XPS, SEM, and XRD.

Ability to conduct design and process failure modes and effects analysis.

Experience with complex projects; ability to analyze problems quickly; development of corrective actions.

Ability to communicate ideas, concepts, and plans across multiple levels.

Experience TF Calc, Optilayer, or other thin film modeling packages
