The Product Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing new product enhancements based on a variety of factors including market research, industry experience, and contact with customers, vendor partners and prospects.
Must be able to work across boundaries and communicate with all areas of the company. Will work with clinical developers and systems engineering counterparts to define product release requirements, as well as, marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, helping to clarify the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer. The desired candidate will serve as the internal and external champion for Zynx inside, occasionally working with the sales channel and key customers.
Manage the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
Apply Pragmatic Marketing™ principles and concepts to all strategic and tactical functions
In collaboration with the Director of Product Management, develop product line marketing/business plans to support achievement of Zynx Inside business goals
Lead market / customer insight research to determine high-level customer needs and product line opportunities
Define and document clear, concise product requirements and high-level user storyboards. Based on market demand analysis and other market research, consult with sales, IT, content, strategic alliance and the client services teams to ensure that design and outcome meet customer requirements
Drive competitive research to develop product SWOT analysis and maintain complete competitive information and market intelligence files
Coordinate New Product Introduction process with the cross-functional teams (IT, marketing, client services, content, and sales) - recommend the most effective marketing and sales strategies and assume accountability for demonstrating ROI of marketing resources
Manage the prioritization and development of fixes for existing defects and of new feature enhancements; define the roadmap
Work closely with sales to provide support on customer visits, answer product questions, and work with customers to ensure that their business needs are met
Attend major trade shows to assist the sales effort and gain competitive market information
Ensure that all marketing activities support the goals of the company and are consistent with the company’s mission
Willing to travel 25%
BA or BS Degree in Marketing, Business, and Related Health Care Field required (MBA in Marketing or related field preferred)
8 years of experience (with at least 3 years proven knowledge and practical experience with product development market requirements, product launches, marketing plans, competitive analyses, technology assessment, operational metrics, and pricing strategy)
Strong Microsoft Windows skills required, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Proven ability to identify key customer requirements and translate them into detailed product requirements for next-generation products
Knowledge of theory and practice of agile / iterative software development methodology
Experience with software tools including SalesLogix & SalesForce.com (or related CRM system); experience with a product management/market requirements development tool
Extremely driven individual that is able to successfully execute on multiple tasks simultaneously
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills
Ability to interface in a professional manner with cross-functional team and vendors to achieve agreed-to objectives and maximize results while staying within budget
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas simply and creatively; must possess the ability to communicate at all levels with tact and discretion
Ability to prioritize among competing opportunities; ability to balance customer needs with technical and business priorities
