Description
The Product Manager is responsible for managing a portion of Paslode’s product portfolio targeted to the remodeling segment. Introduces new products or services to drive revenue growth. Drives tactical action plans to achieve operating objectives. Serves as the voice of the customer to the organization and advocates for the product line within the business. Assists with market research to identify untapped needs. Develops pricing strategies and programs to optimize profitability. Monitors market and competitive trends as input to strategies and plans.


Responsibilities:


Leads roll-out and commercialization efforts to drive revenue and profitability gains. Executes marketing plans, including product, pricing and promotions. Trains key sales and channel personnel. Institutes and tracks key success measures and implements process improvements to reduce time to market.


Identifies end user needs and assists in translating those needs into viable business offerings. Observes end users in the field to understand pain points. Analyzes competitors’ positioning and offerings to identify strengths and weaknesses and leads product comparison efforts. Closely monitors the industry and competitive landscape.


Helps to identify and evaluate new market and product opportunities. Supports the creation of business plans to quantify identified opportunities and develops detailed business and product requirements in collaboration with engineering and manufacturing. Helps drive project prioritization.


Monitors sales and earnings, tracking trends and alterting the organization to issues. Develops forecasts for business analysis, capacity planning and capital requests. Supports the creation of new product capital requests and supports manufacturing to create capacity as needed. Participates in efforts to simplify the product line. Helps identify cost reduction efforts to improve product gross margins.

Requirements

Bachelors Degree

At least 5 years progressive marketing experience

Minimum 2 years experience in a brand or product management role

Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) knowledge and experience with retail channels is preferred

Able to think strategically and creatively about marketing and business issues

Superior execution skills

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Strong presentation skills

Generates excitement and support across a cross-functional team in a matrixed organization

Financial acumen to analyze financial results and new market opportunities

New product introduction experience

Pricing and promotions experience preferred
