The purpose of this position is to proactively develop, implement and manage corporate wide material processes that support YKK AP organizational objectives in customer satisfaction, inventory control, supplier selection criteria, and cost control improvements by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Jointly develop annual fabrication operations FOB Budget with assistance of Fabrication M.E. along with controls required to monitor & evaluate performance expectations. Supports capital planning and execution based on Fabrication M.E. planning.
•Participates as required and supports new product initiatives from Marketing and PD. Also executes rationalization projects for exiting product lines that might be deemed obsolete based on Marketing analysis.
•Analyzes to plant performance to: cost (FOB plan), O.E. load & backlog trend, demand and capacity control. Makes required changes to plant operations, as required, to meet target goal or changes in sales budget due to economic conditions.
•Monitors production scheduling to ensure orders are completed in the timeliest and efficient manner and variance issues are addressed.
•Corresponds with internal customers in the sales group to answer questions and resolve customer service matters.
•Manages plant personnel matters and determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and workflow as required to meet production demands. Supports a proactive, engaged work culture that promotes cross functional team work to bring about continuous improvement. Maintains positive employee relations by listening and solving issues related to work environment. Initiates plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals and objectives for fabrication plant.
•Issues written and oral instructions as required maintaining cross functional, internal and external customer communications.
Individual manages two or more employees in the department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in manufacturing, business management, engineering plus 5 - 8 years of experience in the residential product manufacturing industry and 2 years of manager level experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
