MTPV is looking for a well rounded Senior Process Engineer with development and production foundry experience to work with the current staff to assist in the design and manage fabrication of two key semiconductor components: MTPV’s silicon MEMS Emitter Chips; and III-V Photovoltaic Chips.
This position is a unique opportunity to support the development and optimization of these chips for operation in the near-field.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate in the design, process development and fabrication of existing and new designs for the emitter and PV devices.
Hands on fabrication of in house designed emitter and PV chips. Supervise the work of technician co-workers in this effort.
Supervise and coordinate specific chip development and/or epi wafer development at external facilities such as partners, foundries, and contract work.
Participate in experiments at MTPV’s R&D Lab relating to enhancing near field operation.
Conduct or assist in the testing of the semiconductor components. This will involve, electrical, optical, and near field testing.
Interacting with MTPV design engineers and researchers on existing and future chip designs and requirements.
Interacting with various research organizations and commercial foundries. In some cases these sources may be building designs originating completely from MTPV and in some cases the effort may involve blending the unique capability of an organization with the near field understanding of MTPV.
Minimum 5 years combined experience in MEMS development and/or manufacturing. Or minimum 5 years combined experience in Photovoltaic development and/or manufacturing. Experience in dedicated MEMS fab a plus.
In depth knowledge and understanding of MEMS processing (DRIE, RIE, PECVD, photolithography, wet etch, etc.)
Preferred, 3+ years experience in high-volume semiconductor environment.
Demonstrated experience in taking products/processes from concept to production.
A thorough knowledge of & broad capability in semiconductor device physics with the ability to conduct modeling studies of PV device variations including using EM code to select the best approach to new devices.
Hands on experience in semiconductor device design and fabrication with both with silicon and III-V materials.
Project management experience, the use of design of experiments (DOE), and root cause failure analysis.
Proven ability to solve complex analytical problems and provide robust solutions.
A team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Independent and energetic personality with the ability to multitask.
Ability to travel both domestically and internationally.
B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or other related technical field.
