Sr. Software Product Manager (Asset Management)

Our solutions include insurance policy and claims administration, underwriting, rating, advanced billing and collections, point-of-sale technology, straight-through processing solutions and business process outsourcing.


The ideal candidate can work out of any of our NJ or NC locations or may work remote (with up to 40% travel)

Position Summary (Overall purpose and objective of the position):
The Senior Product Manager will be responsible for full-life cycle product management for RegEd Investment Advisor Solutions including market analysis, problem identification, product definition, go-to market strategy, product positioning, placement, pricing, and product launches. This position also involves close interaction with product architects and key customers. A strong software product management background is required.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities :

• Manage the full product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities

• Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers.

• Drive a solution set across development teams (primarily Development/Engineering, and Marketing Communications) through market requirements, product contract, and positioning.

• Develop and implement product-specific go-to-market plans and work with appropriate internal groups and channel partners to execute.

• Analyze and recommend potential partner relationships for the product

• Evaluate new initiatives with regard to revenue and market potential

• Develop sound pricing models and strategies to maximize revenue and market penetration.

• Develop strategic marketing plans for a product or product line through market research, competitive analysis, pricing, customer engagement, and business planning.

• Work with other business units and channel partners to maximize product distribution and brand awareness.

• Work with the business manager to establish processes for ongoing maintenance and implementation of the product

• Drive marketing initiatives with regard to the assigned products

• Play a key supporting role in major sales cycles.

• Educate the sales force, other internal customers and channel partners on product attributes and positioning.


Job Requirements, Skills, Abilities, Education, Certification, License, Training:
Skills and Abilities:

• 8+ years experience in full life cycle product management including market research, product strategy, business requirements development, competitive analysis, new product launches and sales programs for specifically B2B software & services

• Candidate must have specific software product management experience in the B2B business / compliance applications realm. Candidates with experience limited to product management for telephony, data communications, IT solutions, should not apply.

• Candidates with strong knowledge of the financial services / insurance / securities compliance industry’s concepts, practices, and procedures are strongly encouraged to apply.

• Familiarity with registered investment advisor (RIA) market space, to include SEC regulatory and compliance considerations

• Direct practical experience with risk management methods within a financial services context; to include measuring and assessing risk, establishing policies & controls to mitigate risk, and tracking evolution and effectiveness of risk management programs over time is preferred

• Strong experience managing the full life cycle of a product / product portfolio with demonstrated success.

• Experience with writing user and functional business requirements

• Knowledgeable in internet & web application technologies and a strong understanding of web 2.0 application design

• Ability to work within a fast-paced environment

• Ability to articulate value propositions, both in written and verbal formats, to different influencers across complex organizations

• Strong initiative and self-motivation

• Strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of individuals at all levels of the organization

Minimum Education: BA/BS degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field or equivalent related experience. (MBA preferred).

• Experience in full lifecycle product management for technology products sold into the Financial Services sector is strongly preferred.

• Familiarity with the Investment Advisor market segment is preferred, but not mandatory.

• 8+ years experience in full life cycle product management including market research, business requirements development, competitive analysis, new product launches, sales programs for B2B software & services

• Knowledgeable in internet & web application technologies and a strong understanding of web 2.0 applications design
